4. My working day

On week-days I usually get up at  6 o’clock. I make my bed and go to the bathroom where I wash myself and I take a shower. After that I have breakfast. It may be a cup of coffee and yogurt. Then I put on my coat, take the bag and go to work. I work as the tutor in the kindergarten. My working day begins at 7 o’clock. As I live not far from the kindergarten it takes me only ten minutes to get there.

At 7 o'clock parents start to bring children. I meet their and we go to the gymnasium on morning exercises. At 8:30 we have breakfast, then I give classes such as mathematics or drawing. After classes we go for a walk. On the street we play different games. After that at 12:30 children have dinner and go to bed. At this time I make the plan of occupations with children. About 15:00 o’clock children wake up and go on a mid-morning snack. After the mid-morning snack we usually draw, sculpt, read books and listen to music. Then at 16:30 children have supper. We go on the street and wait for parents. The working day comes to the end at 18 o’clock. Then all children will be taken away by parents, I go home. I cook a supper, then I watch TV, read books or listen to music. At about eleven at night I go to bed.

Ex. 33. Переведите следующие предложения на русский язык, обращая внимание на модальный глагол must:

Ex. 42. Употребите глаголы, данные в скобках, в нужной форме времени и залога, соблюдая правило согласования времен. Переведите предложения на русский язык:

My working day
On week-days I usually get up at 7 o’clock. I make my bed, open the window and do my morning exercises. Then I go to the bathroom where I clean my teeth and wash myself. If I have enough time I take a cold and a hot shower. It really wakes me up and makes my body feel well. After bathroom I go back to my room where I dress myself and brush my hair. In 10 minutes I am ready for breakfast. It may be a cup of tea or corn flakes, and very seldom I eat scrambled eggs.

After breakfast I put on my coat, take the bag and go to the University. As I live not far from the University it takes me only five or seven minutes to get there.

I don’t want to be late for the first lesson so I come to the University a few minutes before the bell. I leave my coat in the cloakroom and go upstairs to the classroom.

The lessons begin at eight o’clock in the morning and they are over at half past one in the afternoon. I have six lessons a day with short breaks between them. After classes I go home and have dinner there. I usually have something substantial for dinner, for example, cabbage soup for the first course, hot meat or fish with some vegetables for the second. Then I drink a cup of tea or milk. Sometimes when I have to stay at the University after classes I go to the canteen and have dinner there.

After dinner I have a short rest, read newspapers, make some telephone calls, go to the bakery. I also work at school and in takes me three or even more hours to get ready for my lessons. Sometimes I go to the library to write a report. As a rule I have very little free time on my weekdays. But when I have some spare time I do some work about the house: do the shopping and the cleaning.

Eight o’clock is supper time in our family. We all get together in the kitchen, then go to the sitting-room and watch TV, read books or discuss different problems. Then I go for a walk with my dog. Twice a week I go to the University in the evening to play volleyball. I am a member of the University volleyball team and we have our training rather late.

At about eleven at night I go to bed.
