Тема занятия: Hotel Service

Цель: Развитие коммуникативных навыков и умений английского языка у студентов с использованием активных методов обучения.

Задачи:

1. 
   Отработать изученные лексические единицы, активизировать изученный лексический материал темы в речи.

   Развивать навыки активного слушания.
   
3. 
   Развить у учащихся способность к активному восприятию информации.

Let’s read several texts about different types of hotels.

Types of Hotels

The inexpensive hotel is also called the 1-star hotel according to the European classification. These are plain hotels. Inexpensive hotels are modestly furnished. As a rule, there are no private bathrooms, phones and TV-sets in every bedroom. Meals are provided for residents but are usually limited for non-residents. Some inexpensive hotels may be old enough with rather small rooms. But the most of them are neat and clean and the service is friendly.

The Kooyk Hotel, Amsterdam The inexpensive hotels are situated away from the city centers and far from convenient means of transport. So their location

is not convenient. The inexpensive hotels offer low prices. That why they are used by the guest who cannot afford to pay much.

The moderate hotel is also called the 2-star hotel according to the European classification. These hotels offer a higher standard of accommodation than the inexpensive hotels. However, only 20 per cent of bedrooms contain a private bathroom or a shower with a lavatory. Le Clement Hotel, Paris The rooms are not air-conditioned, that is a disadvantage for resort and beach hotels in hot countries. Hot morning tea or hot breakfast is available here. The prices are reasonable for the guests with limited incomes.

The expensive hotel is also called the 3-star hotel. These hotels are very comfortable hotels. Two thirds of bedrooms contain a private bathroom, a telephone and a TV-set. The deluxe hotels offer 24-hour front desk services. They contain a variety of bars and restaurants. Meals are provided on a full board basis: hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort and beach hotels in hot countries offer private swimming-pools. The rooms are fitted with air-conditioning and mini-bars. The deluxe hotels have excellent location and convenient transportation means. The prices are rather high but the guests get their money worth.
